Interactive Kiosk

Kiosk experiences visitors control without touching the screen.

A screen visitors control with their hands, without touching it. We design both the content (3D, video, timelines, interactive maps) and the touchless haptic interface: a motion sensor captures hand gestures, so visitors navigate naturally, hygienically and intuitively. The same content can live online as a web exhibition.

Back to the roots of the pandemic

Since 2020, the Covid-19 pandemic has dominated the news. Its danger haunts people's minds, the speed of its spread is striking, and the measures taken are particularly restrictive.

As the media focus mostly on case numbers and expert opinions, it is worth going back to the essentials:

  • What is a virus?
  • How is SARS-CoV-2 transmitted, and who is responsible?
  • What are its clinical signs?
  • What do current and future vaccines look like?

These questions are addressed in an exhibition designed to be educational and original. The fundamentals of the pandemic are illustrated and explained, alongside an artist's vision and historical references that bring back the image of the Black Death, the most famous and most terrible of medieval epidemics.

From a physical exhibition to an online one

  1. Planning

Mapping the content of the physical exhibition, collecting data, summarising pandemic news, bibliographic research on the Black Death and the science, then defining a digital version adapted to the web.

  2. Design & development

A visual identity and a site tree that mirrors the exhibition chapters. Interactive content: 3D, video, slides, timelines, interactive maps and a 3D virus.

  3. Publishing

A teaser video to promote the exhibition, choice of distribution channels and launch on the official URL.

An exhibition you control without touching it

The goal: push the limits of web development while creating a real interaction between the content and the visitor. In the middle of a health crisis, we designed a touchless solution: a haptic interface and a hand-motion capture device replace mouse and keyboard.

Simple gestures are enough to navigate the site and its content. A project carried out with the support of the museum director and his team, Erasme Hospital, visit.brussels and the Brussels-Capital Region.
